Gregory Hawgood (born August 10, 1968) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars.

Playing career[]

Hawgood spent his junior career with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. He has represented Canada twice at the World Junior Championships. He was an all star in 1986, 1987, and 1988 and was the CHL Defenceman of the Year in 1988.

The Boston Bruins picked him 10th, 202nd overall in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. He began his pro career with the Bruins in 1988-89 and embarked on an odyssey through pro teams, In 1990-91 he played for four different teams.

In all Hawgood played in 474 NHL games and scored 60 goals and 164 assists. He also played in 42 playoff games and had 2 goals and 8 assists.
