The Great Midwest Hockey League is an ACHA Division II Club hockey League consisting of 8 teams in the Great Lakes region of the USA. The league is one of the top ACHA Division II leagues and the level of the GMHL teams is close to ACHA DI and NCAA Division III levels. Michigan State University is the 2009-2010 GMHL Champions. Davenport is the 2009-2010 ACHA DII National Champions. Davenport will be leaving the GMHL following the 2009-2010 season to move up to Division I of the ACHA, a team to replace them in the GMHL has yet to be announced.
