George Trenholm Allen (July 27, 1914, in Bayfield, New Brunswick – March 27, 2000 in Red Deer, Alberta) was a Canadian professional ice hockey left wing who played for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and the Chicago Black Hawks.

Playing careerEdit

He played amateur hockey in Saskatchewan from 1929 to 1937 with the Kerrobert Tigers and the North Battleford Beavers. The Beavers lost the 1936-37 Allan Cup Final.

He was then signed by the New York Rangers who assigned him to their New Haven farm team. Injuries to the Rangers forced them to call up Allen during the 1938–39 NHL season where he played in 19 games earning 12 points (6g,6a). He was then sold to the Blackhawks where he would play until the 1944–45 NHL season which he missed due to the National War Labour Board restrictions on the Canada–US border. He was sold to the Montreal Canadiens, after one more year in Chicago, where he would play for one season.

In the NHL he played in 339 regular season games and scored 82 goals and 115 assists. In the playoffs, Allen played in 41 games and score 9 goals and 10 assists.

He played in the minor pros until 1949. Allen then played out his career in Saskatchewan amateur hockey before retiring in 1957.

He was also a player-coach during the 1950–51 season with the Regina Capitals.
