The Frozen Four is the culmination of the NCAA Tournament in Men's Division I and Women's Division I, consisting of the final four teams competing for the National Championship.
The term "Frozen Four" was first used to describe the final four teams at the 1999 Frozen Four, but it has since been expanded to describe all of the final four tournaments since the NCAA Tournament's inception in 1948.
In 2001, the first Women's Frozen Four was held.
