Francis Leonard Bathe (born September 27, 1954 in Oshawa, Ontario) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 224 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers. He was known as a tough defender with a very physical style.

Playing careerEdit

He played junior hockey in Windsor, Ontario and, undrafted by an NHL team, signed as a free agent with the Detroit Red Wings. Bathe only played in 26 games for the Wings over 3 seasons.

In 1977-78 he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers. Bathe played for them until 1983-84, with only a few breaks in the minors. In 1984 a back injury forced his retirement.

In the NHL he played in 224 games, scoring 3 goals and 28 assists.
