The Worcester Railers HC are a minor league hockey team that is scheduled to commence play with the 2017-18 season. The team will be a member of the ECHL and play out of the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The team was announced during the spring of 2016 as a replacement for the departed Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League who relocated by their parent organization the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League to San Jose, California to become the San Jose Barracuda.
On April 28, 2017 it was announced that the team would become the ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders.
