Viktor Fasth (born on August 8, 1982 in Kalix) is a Swedish ice hockey goaltender currently playing with the Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL.

Club career[]

Fasth began his senior career in the 2000-01 season when he was playing with the Brooklyn Tigers of the Division 2.

During the 2001-02 season played Fasth with the Vänersborgs HC of the Division 1.

Fasth moved to the Tvåstad Cobras of the Division 2 for the 2002-03 season. Cobras gained the promotion to the Division 1 for the next season. Fasth continued with the team in the Division 1 for one season.

In 2004 - 2007 played Fasth with the Tingsryds AIF of the Division 1. In his last season with the Tingsryds AIF had Fasth the best save percentage in the Division 1 (.922).

In 2007 - 2010 played Fasth with the Växjö Lakers HC of the HockeyAllsvenskan. In his last season there had Fasth the best save percetage among all goaltenders of the HockeyAllsvenskan (.930).

Fasth signed to a one-year contract with the AIK of the Elitserien in 2010. In the 2010-11 season was Fasth selected into the Elitserien All-Star Team, won the Honken Trophy for the best goaltender of the Elitserien and also won the Guldpucken for the Elitserien's best player. Fasth continued with the AIK in the 2011-12 season and won the Honken Trophy once again.

In 2012 tried Fasth his luck in North America. Fasth began the 2012-13 season with the Tingsryds AIF of the HockeyAllsvenskan because of the 2012-13 NHL lockout. He played there 12 games before heading back to the USA where he started his North American career with the Anaheim Ducks organisation. In this season played Fasth 25 games with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL and 3 games with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.

Fasth also began the 2013-14 season with the Ducks organisation but after 5 games played with the Ducks and 5 games played with the Admirals was Fasth traded to the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL where he finished the season with 7 games played. He continued with the Oilers during the 2014-15 season.

In 2015 returned Fasth back to Europe when he signed with the CSKA Moskva of the KHL. In his first season with the CSKA was Fasth named the KHL Goaltender of the Week on January 17, 2016. He played there until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Since 2017 is Fasth playing with the Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL (formerly Elitserien). In the 2017-18 season won Fasth the Honken Trophy for the third time while he had most shutouts in the SHL (6) and while his team became the SHL champion. He is signed with the Lakers until the end of the 2020-21 season.

International career[]

Fasth played with the Swedish National Team at the 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017 World Championships and at the 2018 Olympics.

At the 2011 championship was Fasth named one of the top 3 players on the Swedish squad, was selected into the World Championship All-Star Team, was named the championship's best goaltender and the championship's most valuable player while Sweden won the silver medals at this tournament.

At the 2017 championship became Fasth along with the whole Swedish team the world champions.
