The St. Michael's Purple Knights are a Men's Division II and Women's Division I team which played in the New England Hockey Conference (which was known as ECAC East until 2015) until the end of the 2016-17 season. The men's team became a full member of the Northeast-10 conference for the 2017-18 season. The women's team became a member of the New England Women's Hockey Alliance in 2017 Both teams are based out of the Cairns Arena in South Burlington, Vermont.
