Sean Bryan Shanahan (born February 8, 1951) is a former professional ice hockey left winger. He was drafted by the Houston Aeros in the ninth round, 110th overall, of the 1973 WHA Amateur Draft.

Shanahan played with three different Ontario junior teams before joing the Providence Friars in 1971 for two seasons. Undrafted by the NHL, he signed as a free agent with the Montreal Canadiens in 1973. He only played 4 games with the big club and was traded to the Colorado Rockies in 1976.

He couldn't make the Rockies either and was signed as a free agent with the Boston Bruins in 1977 where he played 6 NHL games.

He also played four games in the World Hockey Association with the Cincinnati Stingers in 1978-79 and then retired.

Shanahan died on May 15, 2022, at the age of 71.[1]
