The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees are a professional ice hockey team based in Hidalgo, Texas. They were a member of the Central Hockey League from 2003-2012. They are presently sitting out for the 2012-2013 season. They have been accepted as an expansion team in theNorth American Hockey League for the 2013-2014 season. They play their home games at Dodge Arena. Ex-Northeastern University Husky Billy Newson is the franchise's leader in most offensive categories: first in games (221), goals (90), assists (102) and points (192) and third in penalty minutes with 301.
