began his newspaper career in his hometown with the Moose Jaw Times Herald... then five years with the Regina Leader Post... went to the Chatham Daily News before joining the Winnipeg Free Press in 1968... also wrote articles for Sports Illustrated, Hockey News and several media guides... covered the Winnipeg Junior Jets from 1969 and then the professional Jets of both the World Hockey Association and the National Hockey League from 1972 to 1987... named to the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Media Roll of Honour.
