The team is a member of the United States Premier Hockey League's Premier Midwest West Division. The team begins play with the 2017-18 season. The team is owned and operated by the team's ownership includes Jay Witta (who will be the primary operator head coach and general manager), Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau, his wife Crystal, Terri Yontz Miller, and Tim Mahoney.
