IK Göta is an ice hockey club based in Bromma, Sweden. Formerly a highly successful top-level club, IK Göta is nowadays only supporting an U18 junior team.

History[]

The team was founded on October 9th 1900. Pioneer of Swedish ice hockey, the team formed the Swedish Ice Hockey Association in 1922 and defeated Hammarby IF 6-0 that same year to win the inaugural Swedish championship. They would win eight more championships and be 13 times finalists in 34 seasons in the top level of hockey in Sweden.

Today, the club is limited to solely one team, an U18 one. IK Göta collaborates with another former major club of the past, Tranebergs IF, to form junior and senior teams under the name Göta/Traneberg.
