Darcy Robinson

Darcy Robinson (born May 3, 1981 in Kamloops, British Columbia - died Septmeber 27, 2007 in Italy) was a Canadian defenceman who died while playing for AS Asiago Hockey.

He played junior hockey for the Saskatoon Blades and the Red Deer Rebels from 1997 to 2001. The Pittsburgh Penguins picked him 233rd overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.

Robinson never played in the NHL. He turned pro in 2001-02 with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Wheeling Nailers and played for those two teams until 2005.

In that year Robinson went to Italy and joined Asiago. he played there for two seasons.

In the opening game of the 2007-08 season (September 27) Robinson suffered a heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
