Brucehamilton

Bruce Hamilton (born June 30, 1957 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) is the current President and General Manager of the Kelowna Rockets. He was also a hockey left wing from 1974 to 1981.

He played junior hockey for the Saskatoon Blades from 1974 to 1977. The St. Louis Blues chose him 81st overall in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft but he never played in the NHL. He spent four years (1977 to 1981) playing minor pro and senior hockey. He won the Allan Cup in 1980 with the Spokane Flyers.

Hamilton was director of player personnel of the Saskatoon Blades and then was a scout for the Hartford Whalers and the Washington Capitals.

In 1991 he bought the Tacoma Rockets of the Western Hockey League. In 1995 he moved the team to Kelowna, British Columbia. The Rockets won their first Memorial Cup in 2004.

Hamilton won the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy in 2003. In 2010 he was inducted into the Western League Hall of Fame.

He is the Western League chairman of the board.
