The Brampton Capitals are a Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. They are a part of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League.
History[]
Since moving to Brampton in 1989, the Capitals have been one of the more dominant teams in the OPJHL. With three league titles, the Capitals have also moved on once to win the Dudley Hewitt Cup.
In 1995, the Capitals won their first Buckland Trophy as OPJHL champions. In the Dudley Hewitt Cup, then just a "Greater Ontario" Championship, the Capitals moved on to beat both the Timmins Golden Bears of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Caledon Canadians of the Metro Junior A Hockey League to gain a birth into the Central Canadian Championship. At the Central Canadian, the Capitals could not defeat the Thunder Bay Flyers of the United States Hockey League.
In 2000, the Capitals won their second league title, 4-games-to-2 over the Lindsay Muskies. In 2002, Brampton won their third Buckland Trophy 4-games-to-2 against the Wellington Dukes.
