Robert Barry Neely (born November 9, 1953 in Sarnia, Ontario) is a retired former professional ice hockey player who played 283 NHL games for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Colorado Rockies. He scored 39 goals and 59 assists.
He was drafted number one overall in the 1973 WHA Amateur Draft by the Chicago Cougars, but never played a game in the WHA.
He was drafted 10th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft. The Leafs wanted him to emphasize his rough play rather than become a more complete player. Neely played several seasons for the Leafs but ended up in the minors. Even a 3 month stint with the Colorado Rockies did not help his career.
Neely retired in 1980.
He coached the junior Aurora Tigers in 1982-83.
