The Maritimes Amateur Hockey Association did not send its champion to the Memorial Cup playoffs. It did not consider its teams strong enough to challenge the Montreal Junior Canadiens and those of the Ontario Hockey Association.
Instead the Glace Bay Miners advanced to the 1956 Maritime Provinces-Quebec Junior B Championship.
