This is the 1953-54 season of the Quebec City Junior B Hockey League, which was known as the "Association."

This season the teams from Quebec City joined with the teams from the former St. Maurice Valley Junior League. There were two leagues formed - the "Association" and the "Provincial League."

The reason for the two leagues was that there were two Junior "A" teams in Quebec City. There were the Citadelles in the Ontario Hockey Association and the Frontenacs in the Quebec Junior Hockey League. The teams were rivals and did not cooperate. The Frontenacs sponsored a team in the Association and the Citadelles in the Provincial League.

In late December a truce was brokered by the Montreal Canadiens. The two Junior A teams merged as the Frontenacs in the Quebec League. The Citadelles folded and withdrew from the Ontario Association.

Following suit, the Junior B Citadelles folded and withdrew from the Provincial League. Shawinigan, Grand'Mere, and the Quebec Aces then transferred to the Association and the Provincial League folded.

The three teams carried their records forward into the Association. This accounts for the unbalanced standings. Since the teams were playing different numbers of games, a percentage system was used rather than points.
