The Scarborough Rangers were originally the North Toronto Lions. That team played in the Scarborough Arena but attracted very small crowds. The team folded on Jan. 11 but was taken over by the Arena and finished the season.

Because of a protest by the Unionville Jets, a playoff qualifying series was held between the Jets and the East York Rockets.
