Melfort challenged Saskatoon as it had a right to. Saskatoon disputed that right. Because of Saskatoon's protests, no series could be arranged in time to allow the winner to advance. The Saskatchewan Amateur Hockey Association awarded the series to Melfort.

Melfort Athletics advanced to the 1950-51 Western Canada Intermediate Playoffs.
