This is the 2017-18 Ranchland Senior Hockey League season. This is the league's 44th season dating back to its founding for the 1974-75 season.
Membership changes[]
- The Macleod Gazette announced on June 28, 2017 that the league had added two teams, the Lethbridge Lightning and Siksika Buffaloes based out of the Deerfoot Sportsplex on the Siskika First Nation land, approximately a 100 km (60 mile) drive from Calgary about halfway to Brooks, Alberta.

The top four teams qualify for the playoffs. The semifinals are best-of-five and match up 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3. The semifinal winners meet in the best-of-five league championship.
