- The Notre Dame Fighting Irish left the conference after the 2016-17 season and join the Big Ten Conference as an associate member for men's ice hockey starting with the 2017-18 season.

Lamorello Trophy Conference Tournament[]
On September 26, 2017 the conference announced that they would be returning to the format last used in 2014 with all 11 teams qualifying. The top five seeds earning byes to the quarterfinals the weekend of March 2-4, 2018. The sixth seed host the eleventh seed the seventh seed host the tenth seed, and the eighth seed host the ninth seed in the beast of three preliminary round. The preliminary round winners are reseeded and will play the top three seeds and the fourth seed plays the fifth seed in the best of three quarterfinals held the weekend of March 9-11, 2018. The quarterfinal winners advance to the single elimination semifinals March 16, 2018 at the TD Garden. The semifinal winners advance to the final on March 17, 2018 also at the TD Garden. The tournament winner earns the Lamorello Trophy and the conference's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament.
