This is the 2016-17 Prairie Junior Hockey League season. This was the league's 11th season under this name. The league was previously known as the South Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League from its founding in 1992 until merging with the North Saskatchewan Junior B Hockey League in 2007 and taking its present name.

President's Cup Playoffs[]
Format[]
The top five teams from each division qualify for the playoffs. The fourth and fifth place teams play a best of three Survivor Series to determine the number four seed in each division. The Survivor Series winner plays the first place team and the second plays the third place team in the best of five division semfinals. The semifinal winner meet in the best of seven division final. The division winners meet in the best of seven league championship series.
The playoff champion advances to the 2017 Keystone Cup which is being held in Arborg, Manitoba and being hosted by the Arborg Ice Dawgs of the Keystone Junior Hockey League. The Keystone Cup is the Western Canada Junior B Championship. The league playoffs also double as the provincial championship for the Athol Murray Trophy.
