This is the 2016 Dudley Hewitt Cup tournament held April 26 to April 30, 2016 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario hosted by the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.  The games will be held at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex.   The tournament involves the champions of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League, Superior International Junior Hockey League, and the host Kirkland Lake Gold Miners The tournament acts as the Central Region championship for the Canadian Junior Hockey League and serves as the qualifier for the 2016 Royal Bank Cup being held in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan hosted by the AJHL's Lloydminster Bobcats at the Centennial Civic Centre. The tournament was originally awarded to Sudbury, Ontario to be hosted by the Sudbury Nickel Barons  on October 7, 2014; but the team announced they were relocating to Rayside-Balfour prior to the 2015-16 season and there was deemed to be little support in the community of Sudbury.  The tournament was then re-awarded to Kirkland Lake on April 27, 2015.

Since the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners reached the league final, the Soo Thunderbirds will represent the NOJHL regardless of NOJHL final series outcome.
