The Esso Cup is a National Female Hockey championship for midget level players (aged under 18 years) sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The Westman Wildcats are the first ever winners of the tournament in 2009. Westman player Jenna-Marie Durnin scored twice to lead the club to a win over the Scarborough Sharks in the gold medal game.[1]
The 2011 Esso Cup was contested in St. Albert, Alberta. In the gold medal game, the Notre Dame Hounds defeated the Edmonton Thunder by a 5-2 tally.[3] In the championship game, Olivia Howe of Notre Dame contributed with a goal and an assist.[4]

The first Esso Cup was contested in 2009. The city of Calgary, Alberta hosted the event as the gold medal game featured the Westman Wildcats and the Scarborough Sharks. Kaitlyn Keon, granddaughter of Stanley Cup champion Dave Keon was on the Sharks roster.
