The Emirati National Team represents the United Arab Emirates in international competitions.
The Emirati National Team made its debuts in 2007 with a solid 4-1 win over Thailand at the 2007 Asian Winter Games. The Emiratis finished 6th (out of 11 teams) in the competiton. The young team was off to a good start, and needed not wait too long before being successful. In 2008, they won the first (and to date, lone) edition of the Arab Cup of Ice Hockey, which also involved Algeria, Kuwait and Morocco. Then in 2009, at their first participation in the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, the United Arab Emirates won the tournament by defeating Thailand 5-3 in the final.
Emirati hockey was given recognition in 2010 as the team was welcomed to participate in the 2010 World Championship Division III for the first time, thus becoming the first Arab nation to take part in the tournament. They lost all three games they played, but managed to play a close game against the Luxembourgish National Team, holding them to a small 3-2 win.
