Emily West is a womens ice hockey player from Colorado. Currently, she competes for the Minnesota Golden Gophers of the NCAA.
As a freshman with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, she saw action in 34 games. She led all Gophers rookies in scoring with 24 points. She scored the first goal of her NCAA career in her NCAA debut, an October 5, 2007 contest versus the Northeastern Huskies. On March 8, 2008, she registered two assists in the Gophers WCHA Final Face-Off match versus rival Wisconsin.
On March 3, 2012, the Golden Gophers won their first WCHA tournament title since 2005. They defeated the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs by a 2-0 tally. Freshman Rachel Bona had the only penalty of the game (tripping in the first period) for the Gophers. In the second period, senior Emily West earned a penalty shot, the first for a Gophers player since the 2007-08 season. Although she did not score, she earned the game winning goal with two minutes left in the second period.
