Doug Barrie (born October 2, 1946, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) is a former ice hockey defenceman. He played in the National Hockey League for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, and Los Angeles Kings. He also played in the World Hockey Association for the Alberta/Edmonton Oilers.
He played for the junior Edmonton Oil Kings, winning the Memorial Cup in 1966. He played in the Detroit Red Wings system but was never called up to the big club. He saw some action with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1968-69.
His NHL chance came in 1970 when he was claimed by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1970 NHL Expansion Draft. He played a season and a half with the Sabres before an ill-spoken word got him traded to the Los Angeles Kings.
Barrie junped to the WHA's Edmonton Oilers in 1972, where he spent the last five years of his career as a regular.
In his NHL career, Barrie played in 158 games, scoring 10 goals and adding 42 assists. He played in 350 WHA games, scoring 37 goals and adding 122 assists.
