The Detroit Greyhounds were a minor professional team in Detroit, Michigan. They played in the American Hockey Association in the 1926-27 season.

They had been the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, a senior team that played in the Northern Ontario Hockey Association's senior league. That team had won the Allan Cup in 1924 but was losing money in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Unfortunately the Detroit Olympia was not ready in 1926 and there was no alternative in Detroit. The NHL team, the Detroit Cougars, played its games in Windsor, Ontario. The Greyhounds were forced to play all of their games on the road. After losing their first six games, the Greyhounds folded.
