Franchise History[]

The team was originally scheduled to be an expansion team known as the Berlin River Drivers based out of Berlin, New Hampshire. The team was relocated to North Adams, Massachusetts before playing. They were renamed the Berkshire Battalion. The Battalion played at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Skating Rink for the 2014-15 season. After the season, the team's owner William Dadds announced in the Berkshire Tribune. That he was working on merging his team with a new team that was going to be based out of the Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, Connecticut as the team was being offered only 3 Friday night date (down from ten the previous season. The drop in Friday night dates was caused by the arena's drop in revenue due to the lack of public skating in particular on Friday nights. Dadds had reportedly stated that he was interested in moving his franchise "out west". The ownership of the Dayton Demonz had given up his franchise rights back to the league for the Dayton franchise. He would later be awarded an expansion franchise for the 2015-16 season to be based out of McMorran Place inPort Huron, Michigan which became the Port Huron Prowlers. The Dayton Demolition were born in late July 2015.

On July 13, 2016 the team announced that they were sitting out the 2016-17 season due to arena availability issues and lack of lead time to prepare for the season. The owner stated that were looking for a location to house the hockey team in the area if Hara Arena is not available for 2017-18.  Three weeks later; the family that owns the Hara Arena announced that the arena would be shuttered after August 27, 2016 as the facility is in debt to the point it is believed that it can not be over come.
