David Gove (born May 4, 1978 in Centerville, Massachusetts, died April 5, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) was an American ice hockey player who last played in 2009. Gove had played two NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes.

He played with Western Michigan University from 1997-2001, leading the league CCHA in points in his final year. He recorded 57 goals and 86 assists for 143 points in 144 games with Western Michigan.

The Hurricanes signed him as an undrafted free agent but he spent most of his time in the minors. In 2006, he was with the Hurricanes when the team won the Stanley Cup. Although he did not qualify to have his name on the cup, he got a Stanley Cup ring and got to hold the cup during the celebration on the ice after the last game of the series.[1]

The Pittsburgh Penguins accquired him in 2008 for Joe Jensen.

He was named interim head coach of the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL in December of 2015 and he took a personal leave of absence in April of 2016.

He passed away April 5, 2017 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the age of 38.[2]
