David "Dave" Farrish (born August 1, 1956 in Wingham, Ontario) is a retired professional defenceman who played 430 games in the National Hockey League. He played for the New York Rangers, Quebec Nordiques, and Toronto Maple Leafs. While playing in the American Hockey League, Farrish won the Eddie Shore Award as the league's best defenceman during the 1981–82 AHL season.

He played junior hockey for the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League from 1974-76. He was drafted 24th overall in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft by the New York Rangers and junped right to the big team. Farrish played for three seasons before being claimed by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft. He was then quickly traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Farrish had a mixed history with the Leafs. He was a full-timer in 1980-81, 1982-83, and 1983-84. The other seasons (up to 1985) were mostly spent with the Leafs' farm teams.

In 1985 he signed as a free agent with the Philadelphia Flyers but was sent to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League for the 1985-86 season.

After this he spent two seasons (1986-87 & 1987-88) in Europe. Two more seasons in the North American minor pros and Farrish then retired in 1989 (except for one game with the Moncton Hawks in 1989-90.

Farrish has served as head coach for the Moncton Hawks, Salt Lake Golden Eagles, Fort Wayne Komets, Springfield Falcons, Louisiana IceGators and the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Farrish currently serves as an Assistant Coach of the Anaheim Ducks. He won the Stanley Cup with the Ducks in 2007.
