Dartmouth is a town located between Fall River and [[New Bedford, Massachusetts}New Bedford]] along the South Coast region of Massachusetts. The town had a population of 34,032 as of the 2010 census.
The town has been home to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth since the mid 1960's when the school was created by the merger of two colleges (one in Fall River and one in New Bedford). The school was known as Southeastern Massachusetts University from its founding (in Dartmouth) until 1991 when it was merged into the University of Massachusetts system.
