Danielle Welch (born February 22, 1990) is an ice hockey player for the Boston College Eagles women’s ice hockey program.

Playing careerEdit

At Hastings high school, Welch was a four-year varsity letterwinner. In her junior and senior year, she captained the team. In her senior season (2007-08), she accumulated 35 goals, 16 assists for a total of 51 points and a +21 rating. In addition, she was a two-time All-State selection along with a three-time All-Conference. Welch was a top ten finalist for the Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award. She was a member of the USA Under 18 National team in 2007.

NCAAEdit

Welch joined the Boston College Eagles in 2008 and appeared in 36 games. In scoring, she ranked second in the freshman class. She tallied 12 goals and 11 assists for 23 points. Her first collegiate goal came in the first game of the season, as BC earned a 2-0 win over Clarkson. In the season, she recorded four game-winning goals while earning a +14 rating. She was recognized as Hockey East Mission Rookie of the Week honors (week of January 5, 2009) for scoring the game-winning goal against Yale in overtime. [1]

In her sophomore season, she played in all 35 games and finished third on the team in scoring with nine goals and five assists for 14 points. During the season, Welch tallied two power-play goals and tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals. Versus New Hampshire, Welch scored a career high two goals in a 3-2 win, including the game-winner in overtime. In addition, Welch had three multiple point games on the season. Welch was part of the Women's Hockey East All-Star team that played against the United States' women's national team.
