Daniella (Ella) Matteucci (born February 8, 1993) is a former women's ice hockey player for the Clarkson Golden Knights women's ice hockey program.

Playing career[]

During the 2010-11 season, Matteucci was part of the gold medal winning Notre Dame Hounds team at the 2011 Esso Cup.

NCAA[]

Shields joined the Clarkson Golden Knights in 2011. She was also recruited by Niagara, Maine, Minnesota State and Bemidji State. [1] Her first NCAA goal was scored in her NCAA debut on September 30, 2011. In a 3-3 tie with the Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program, Matteucci scored with 1:47 remaining in the second period.[2]

Hockey Canada[]

She played with Team British Columbia at the 2011 Canada Winter Games (women's) tournament and was the team captain.[3]

Baseball[]

In her senior year of high school, she pitched a no-hitter for the Notre Dame Hounds. Of note, she was the only girl on the all boys’ team. At the 2014 IBAF World Cup in Japan, Matteucci pitched against the Japanese team, allowing seven runs.

She was a member of the Canada women's national baseball team that competed in baseball at the 2015 Pan Am Games[4]

Personal[]

Matteucci was a pitcher on the boys baseball at Notre Dame College in Saskatchewan. During the 2011 season, she pitched a no-hitter.[8] She was also named to the Canadian National Women's Baseball team that took part in a seven game exhibition series in August 2011 in Cary, North Carolina (including one game versus the Raleigh Red Sox, a men's team).[9] She graduated from Clarkson University in May 2015 after four seasons with the hockey team, earning a major in history while getting her minor in business.
