Clarence Alexander Boucher (born November 1, 1896 in North Bay, Ontario- date of death unknown) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He played in the NHL for the New York Americans.
He played junior hockey for the Sudbury Cub Wolves in 1919-20 and finished off the seasons for the senior Wolves. After starting the next season with the Cleveland Indians of the USAHA, Boucher came back to the Sudbury Wolves. He played for the senior Iroquois Falls Papermakers from 1922 to 1924 and then played for the senior Galt Terriers in 1925-26.
While with Galt Boucher was playing an exshibition game against the Guelph intermediate team in Guelph on March 8, 1926. He seriously injured the Guelph player George Grant with a solid hit. The Guelph players and fans went after Boucher and he had to seek a safe haven in the local police station. Bousher was arrested for assaulting Grant but the charges were soon dropped. Lucky for Boucher that they were dropped because Boucher soon afterward signed with the New York Americans as a free agent. A conviction would have, at the least, made it extremely difficult to cross the border between Canadaand the United States.
Boucher played 47 games over two seasons with the Americans, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists. He also played some minor pro between 1926 and his retirement in 1929.
