Chris Tanev (born December 20, 1989 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian defenceman playing for the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

He played Tier II Junior "A" for the Durham Fury, Stouffville Spirit, and the Markham Waxers from 2006 to 2009. In 2009-10 he joined the Rochester Institute of Technology where he won the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Year award.

Tanev was not drafted by the NHL.

The Vancouver Canucks signed him as a free agent in June, 2010. He was assigned to the Moose during the 2010 training camp.
