A Moose Jaw Warriors alumni, Bright was drafted by the Hartford Whalers 78th overall in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. Bright did not reach the National Hockey League. He spent several years in the Whalers system, playing in the American Hockey League for the Springfield Falcons and the ECHL for the Louisville Icehawks.

His association with the Japanese hockey, with Seibu and then Kokudo, lasted a full decade, during which Bright gained Japanese citizenship and played once for the Japanese National Team, at the 2004 World Championship.

Following his days in Japan, Bright moved to Europe, joining in 2005-06 the Frankfurt Lions of the DEL. He would later play for EHC Basel, Acroni Jesenice and the Hannover Scorpions before retiring in 2008.
