The Charlottetown Abegweits were a senior and a junior team.
They won the Maritimes Senior Championship in 1922 and 1923.
They also won the Prince Edward Island Senior Hockey League championship in 1926,1927, 1930, 1937, and 1939. In each of these years, plus 1938 and 1943 as an independent (non-league) team, they played in the Maritimes Senior Playoffs.
The Abegweits played in the Northern Senior Hockey League (Maritimes) in 1931-32 and the Maritime Senior Hockey League from 1933-35. In 1932-33 they were in the unusual position of defaulting their last three games in order to make the playoffs.
The Abegweits won the Maritimes Junior Championship in 1933-34 and then entered the 1933-34 Eastern Canada Memorial Cup Playoffs. There they upset the Montreal Cranes, making them the only Maritimes team to win a series in the Memorial Cup playoffs for almost thirty years.
