Calgardner

Calvin "Cal" Gardner (October 30, 1924 - October 10, 2001) was a professional player in the NHL.

Gardner played 3 years (1941-43) of junior hockey in Winnipeg, winning the Memorial Cup with the Winnipeg Rangers in 1942-43.

He then spent two years in the military before playing with the New York Rovers in 1945-46. The Rangers brought him up to the NHL in 1946-47.

Gardner played 11 seasons in the NHL with the Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Black Hawks, and Boston Bruins. He won the Stanley Cup in 1948-49 and 1950-51 with the Leafs.

After the 1956-57 season with the Bruins, Gardner played four seasons in the minors before retiring in 1961. He scored 154 goals and 238 assists in 696 NHL games played.

He was the father of Dave and Paul Gardner who both played in the NHL.
