Bowling Green, Ohio

Bowling Green is a city of about 30,000 people in northwestern Ohio. It is home to Bowling Green State University and hosts the Black Swamp Arts Festival, Wood County Fair and the National Tractor Pulling Championships.

Hockey in Bowling GreenEdit

Bowling Green is home to the Bowling Green State University Falcons hockey program and the Bowling Green High School Bobcats hockey program. The Falcons are a NCAA Division I ice hockey program and compete in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The Falcons have won seven regular season CCHA championships and five CCHA tournament championships. The Falcons won the 1984 Division I National Championship. Notable former Falcons include Rob Blake, Dan Bylsma, George McPhee and Jordan Sigalet.

The Bobcats represent Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green and compete in the Northwest Ohio Conference, which is sanctioned by the Ohio High School Activities Association. The Bobcats have won six OHSAA state championships (1980, 1984, 1991, 1997, 1998 and 1999).

Both programs play their home games at BGSU Ice Arena on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
