He played junior hockey for the Laval Titan and the Granby Bisons from 1987 to 1991. Undrafted by any NHL team, Rousson joined the Binghamton Rangers of the American Hockey League and won the Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award in 1992-93. But with no interest from any NHL clubs, he went to Europe.
In 1998 Rousson went to Germany and played a season for the Cologne Sharks. An overcrowded goaltending situation led to him going to the Munich Barons from 1999 to 2002. From 2002 to 2007 he played for the Hamburg Freezers. He ended his career with the Kassel Huskies from 2007 to 2009.
After his retirement in 2009 he became the goaltending coach of the Hamburg Freezers.
