Borden-Carleton is a town located in Prince County, Prince Edward Island. The town is made up of the former communities of Borden and Carleton. The consolodation occured on April 12, 1995 as the Community of Borden-Carleton and became a town on July 31, 2012. The communities merged out of the construction of the Confederation Bridge. Borden was the PEI end of the bridge and Carelton had been the PEI terminal of the ferry across the Northumberland Strait, which was discontinued with the opening of the bridge.
