Amanda Shaw (born May 12, 1987) was an ice hockey player for the Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey program. From 2010 to 2012, Shaw played for the Burlington Barracudas.

Playing careerEdit

She played minor hockey in Aylmer, Ontario. At the age of 13, she began playing girls ice hockey. Shaw was a member of the B.A.D. Girls Hockey Association (Belmont, Aylmer and Dorchester) before moving to the London Devilettes of the Provincial Women's Hockey League in 2002, respectively.


In the autumn of 2005, Shaw joined the Boston Terriers. In her freshman campaign she particiapted in 33 games. A contest against the Vermont Catamounts on October 22, 2006 resulted in the first two poitns of her Terriers career (1 goal, 1 assist). Amanda Shaw (and BU team captain Cara Hendry) were selected to the Hockey East Women's All-Star team that played the U.S. Women's Olympic Team on December 11, 2005 at the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore Center.[1]


She was the 18th overall selection in the 2010 CWHL Draft.

On November 18, 2011, she was one of several Burlington Barracudas players (including Christina Kessler, Shannon Moulson, Ashley Stephenson, Jana Harrigan, Anniina Rajahuhta, Samantha Shirley, Amanda Parkins, and Lindsay Vine) who competed in the first ever Hockey Helps The Homeless Women’s Tournament. Said tournament was held at the Magna Centre in Newmarket, Ontario.[2] At the Hockey Helps the Homeless tournament held at Bell Sensplex in Kanata, Ontario, Shaw particiapted with a men's team.

Hockey CanadaEdit

As a member of Team Ontario, Shaw participated in the 2005 Canadian Under-18 Women's Hockey Challenge. In December 2007, Shaw was named to Canada's under-22 women's team.[3] From May 28 to 31, 2008, she was invited to Hockey Canada's Under 22 Strength and Conditioning Camp.[4]
