The Alpena Flyers were a USA Hockey-sanctioned ice hockey team from Alpena, Michigan. The team was announced in July, 2014 to commence play with the 2014-15 Midwest Junior Hockey League based out of the Northern Lights Arena. After their debut season the team and the league joined the United States Premier Hockey League as part of the USPHL Midwest Division. As part of the re-organization of the Midwest Division the team was moved to the United States Premier 3 Hockey League for the 2016-17 season.
On March 17, 2015, David Guzman, the team's General Manager was named Midwest Junior Hockey League General Manager of the Year.
The team quietly ceased operations after the end of the 2016-17 season.
