This is the 2016-17 Maritime Junior A Hockey League season. This is the league's 51st season dating back the league's founding in 1967 as the Metro Valley Junior Hockey League.

Membership ChangesEdit

  • On November 2, 2016 the league announced they approved the relocation of the Dieppe Commandos to Edmundston, New Brunswick for the 2017-18 season. The team will be moving into the Jean-Daigle Centre which was under construction at the time of the announcement. The facility seats 2,400 and  opened in the fall of 2017. On February 8th the team announced that they would be named the Edmundston Blizzard.
  • On March 23, 2018 the league annouced that the Woodstock Slammers would be taking a leave of absence for the 2018-19 season with the intent of either being sold or relocated.

Kent Cup PlayoffsEdit

FormatEdit

The top four teams in each division qualified for the Kent Cup Playoffs. All three rounds will be best-of-seven. The playoff champion will advance to the 2018 Fred Page Cup which will be held in Ottawa, Ontario. The winner of that tournament will qualify for the 2018 Royal Bank Cup which is being held in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
