This is the 2015-16 Hockey East Women's Hockey Season.  This is the league's 13th season of women's hockey.

Membership changesEdit

  • The conference added the Merrimack Warriors program to the league to bring the women's membership to 9 teams.  The school added the women's program for the 2013-14 season.  The school played a club schedule for that year and started to ease into full varsity play in time for the 2015-16 season.

Conference TournamentEdit

FormatEdit

The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament with the top four teams hosting quarterfinal best-of-three series. The final two rounds of the conference tournament will be held at the Lawler Rink, in North Andover, Massachusetts, home of the Merrimack Warriors. The tournament winner will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey Tournament.

QuarterfinalsEdit

  • Boston College defeated Maine 2 games to none (5-2, 5-1)
  • Northeastern defeated Providence 2 games to none (5-2, 6-2)
  • Boston University defeated Vermont 2 games to 1 (3-0, 2-4, 6-1)
  • Connecticut defeated New Hampshire 2 games to none (3-2, 4-3 (3ot))
