Team changesEdit

The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (announced a move to the Southern Professional Hockey League, then folded) , Colorado Eagles (who moved to the ECHL), Mississippi RiverKings (who moved to the Southern Professional Hockey League), Bloomington PrairieThunder, (lease not renewed) and the Odessa Jackalopes (folded and replaced by NAHL franchise in the city) will not be competing this season.

A new team, the Bloomington Blaze joined the league and played in the Turner Conference.

Yuma, Arizona was awarded an expansion team, but it fell through due to a lack of an arena.

RealignmentEdit

Announced on June 14, 2011, the league realigned their conferences with the loss of five teams and the addition of one team. The notable changes are the addition of Bloomington to the Turner Conference and Wichita Thunder to the Berry Conference.
