The 2005 East Regional of the NCAA Tournament took place March 25 and 26, 2005, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. The regional was hosted by Boston University.
The participants were:

- 3. Boston University Terriers
- 4. Mercyhurst Lakers
Boston College was the Hockey East champion, and Mercyhurst was the Atlantic Hockey champion. North Dakota and Boston University advanced to the NCAA Tournament by way of at-large bids.

The semifinal winners, Boston College and North Dakota, met on March 26. In a rematch of the 2001 NCAA Championship Game, the Fighting Sioux exploded out of the gate to a 3-0 lead in the first period and never looked back. Freshman Travis Zajac scored two goals and added an assist, while goaltender Jordan Parise made 33 saves on his way to being named the Most Outstanding Player of the East Regional as North Dakota advanced to the 2005 Frozen Four in Columbus, Ohio, 6-2 over Boston College.
